Nicola Schellander was awarded a Distinction, after winning a Master Degree in Glass Product Design, a scholarship awarded by the Edinburgh Crystal Glass Company.

In 2000, she was offered a position as in-house designer, developing catalogue, and promotional lines for the Edinburgh Crystal, Gallery and Thomas Webb brands as well as projects for a large number of clients.

Working as Senior Designer for Edinburgh Crystal has enabled Nicola to head the design department ,designing for series and mass production, developing many contemporary crystal tableware and giftware ranges and going on to launch a Designer Collection for Edinburgh Crystal in August 2004.

A delegate in The International Glass Synposium in Novy Bor in 2003, she then became Senior Designer for Dartington Crystal responsible for the complete re-launch Royal Brierly Crystal and working on Dartington Crystal projects. As both a skilled Glassmaker and consultant Glass Designer, she is a specialist in hot glass, centrifuge, press and colour production technology.
